Together we are Anna


Written for the Mumbai Mirror in India in response to Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement, this insightful drama tells the story of Uma, an elderly supporter of Anna, travelling to join the protests in Delhi who encounters a cynical tax driver called Navin. He agrees corruption is rife in India but he is not sure Anna is the man to stop it.


Together we are Anna was first published in the Mumbai Mirror on August 21st, 2011 under the title Silence! The protest is in session!. It was first produced under the same title at the Indian Theatre Centre in Mumbai, India on September 1st, 2011. The production was designed and directed by PARAMESHwar K.R, performed by R.S. Mani and Meenalatha. Pictured is the Orb Theatricals production as part of the Alex Broun Play Festival at The Junction, Dubai, UAE in 2017, directed by Humera Sultana and performed by Sabiha Majgaonkar (Uma) and Ajay Simha (Navin).
